Car Rental at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport

At Sheremetyevo Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport (SVO) in Moscow, Russia, all the car rental companies are located in the same area in terminal D, Floor 1, opposite the international arrival hall exit. Below is a list of how to find your way from your terminal of arrival.

Northern Terminal Complex

• Terminal B – go to floor 1 and Sheremetyevo Station 1. This is the inter-terminal metro train, a 4 minute train ride that will take you to Sheremetyevo Station 2 located in between terminals D and E.
• Terminal C – use the pedestrian walkway to terminal B, and follow directions through signs, or as listed above for terminal B.

Southern Terminal Complex

• Terminal D – car rental desks are located opposite the international arrival exit.
• Terminal E – through the pedestrian walkway towards terminal D, floor 1.
• Terminal F – through the pedestrian walkway towards terminal D, floor 1.

It is highly recommended that you make a reservation of your preferred car with your rental company of choice ahead of your arrival as the options for available cars are more limited for walk-up customers.

Please note that all foreign drivers need to carry an IDP (International Driver Permit), a translation of your valid driving license into nine different languages, when renting a vehicle in Russia. You are also required to carry your normal driving license, which you have had to have for more than 12 months, and the age requirement to rent a car in Russia is 21.

Some companies might have an age requirement that is higher, and some might have an additional surcharge for drivers under the age of 25. You also need to provide a valid passport, and a credit card in the name of the driver/renter for the deposit charge.

Returning a rental car at Sheremetyevo Airport

Once you are ready or scheduled to return your rented vehicle to the car rental company at Sheremetyevo International Airport, please follow the directions from your specific rental car company, but always remember to collect all your belongings before locking and returning the rented vehicle as instructed.

Make sure to check the opening hours of your chosen car rental company or for instructions on how to pick up or drop off your rented car out of hours as many of the companies have an option for that, but not all. This usually needs to be set up beforehand, and might come with an extra charge, so please contact your specific agency for more details.

Once you have completed the drop off process you can proceed to check-in or security located in your terminal of departure.
